Fire badly damaged several buildings Friday near the courthouse square in Greencastle, with flames shooting through the roofs as firefighters from several communities were called in to the central Indiana city to help.CASSOPOLIS, Mich. – A Michigan woman charged in a fiery head-on crash that killed an Indiana couple, their 1-year-old son and another woman has been sentenced to 90 days in jail.
The South Bend Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/13rMHHF) that Cecilia Cheney of Niles pleaded no contest to four counts of moving violation causing death. She was sentenced Thursday in a Cass County court to the jail term plus $800 in fines and costs.
Cheney told the court she’s “very remorseful.”
Her pickup crossed the center line Oct. 9, 2011, in Milton Township in southwestern Michigan. Prosecutors said Cheney took her eyes off the road and was speeding.
Curtis Stone, Stacey Garza, their son Devin Stone and Garza’s mother, Kathleen Marks, died. All were from Mishawaka except Marks, who lived in South Bend.
