Driver who struck, killed bikers gets 18 years

GOSHEN – A northern Indiana man who struck and killed two bicyclists while driving along a road has been sentenced to 18 years in prison.

The Elkhart Truth reported (http://bit.ly/ZubEVW) 43-year-old Daniel Snead of Goshen pleaded guilty in January to causing death while driving under the influence of drugs.

Nineteen-year-old Daniel Runion and 18-year-old David Anglemeyer were riding their bicycles east on a county road in the early morning of June 7 when they were struck by a westbound vehicle driven by Snead.

Anglemeyer died instantly. Runion died later at a South Bend hospital.

Snead was arrested two months later.
