Update: About 50 Wawasee students, three bus drivers injured, but only one injury is serious; victims treated at hospitals in Warsaw, Goshen and Fort Wayne.A vacant house caught fire early Sunday on Fort Wayne’s north side, according to the city fire department.
Firefighters were sent to 1426 St. Joseph Blvd., near Tennessee Avenue, about 2:20 a.m., and they encountered flames coming from the back of the two-story house, the department said.
The blaze, which heavily damaged the first floor, was under control by about 2:50 a.m. No one was hurt, the department said.
The cause remains under investigation.
