Need to trade talent to get talent. Other than a VERY FEW, we have no one to trade.

How can the Franke's witness this and seemingly do nothing? I understand players are waived for a reason but some new blood might make a difference rather than bringing back someone like Milam. Bring up Ahmed Mahfouz from Dayton and any others that show promise from Pensacola to put some life in the team and show some the door who can't or won't produce be they fan favorite, retread, or veteran. Of course, maybe the Franke's know players will be sent down but they sure seem quiet of late. Meanwhile the season seems like the old Paul Simon song..."Slip Sliding Away."

Komet players have no idea how to score on a break away. All they know is the "dump and chase" system. I they would carry the puck in every once in awhile they might be able to do something.

Who are these Thumbs Down People anyway?

How can people thumbs down any of these posts.....the KOmets are playing awful and they can't compete with teams that aren't even the best in the league right now. It is really sad.

It is time for some fan favorites to go.

Ahmed Mahfouz must take Schrock's place. LKS should go bye bye. No offense. He just can't hack it at this level. There are lots of these guys who cant.

Once again, our best players have been guys like Dunbar, Hoban, Wheeler, Firman, Rizk is good when he is on a line that has scorers....not the 3rd line. And Marino has been good all season, just not alot of help. Smith is every other game as it seems. I think effort is there.....I just don't think they stack up with the other ECHL teams who have affiliated players up and down their roster.

AA Hockey is not AA Hockey my friends.

Time to face the facts.

"We need to play harder.." thanks, why isn't this below average team playing that way EVERY night??? Thanks for giving it your all every shift every night!!!!!!! Who knows you might win one...or two, no pressure. Might be nice having a job where your best isn't a requirement!

Our defense has been horrid....seriously where is Jeremy gates?? Why isn't he on the roster but a 5'8 wheeler is...nothing against wheeler but come on gates played better than kishel nycolat and Henley but gets waived? Any smart owner/gm knows better

This thumbs down thing is actually somewhat funny...it seems someone is quietly reading and waiting for each comment...them boom it gets a dislike. Seems silly to me but maybe they aren't good at expressing themselves yet want to feel like they have a part in this blog. I actually am paying alot of attn to the up, down vote now. Humor is good right now...don't want to get too down and out about one season...I am ok with a crappy season now and then...but I hope something is tried this week...I don't believe we can't still make the playoffs..it's possible...if changes happen. Still not over komets!!! Hurry though!!! No more dang excuses. I believe in Al, and the Frankes and a handful of our guys that give it all! But we need to see something soon on the ice.

What do we have to lose by bring in someone new? Remember we brought a guy in late last year and he became plaoff MVP.I have had a lot of faith in the Frankes untill this year.Benching Henley was a good move but we need much more.Sims is stale got to go.

As much as I hate to say it, there a couple of unskilled forwards on this team that have to go and NOW. You already know they won't be back next year so why keep them on. LKS and Klotz, Im looking at you.

I think we should have a contest and see who can receive the most thumbs down votes and the winner gets a big thumbsdown trophy lol!!

I like the idea of the biggest thumbs down trophy winner. Might be a nice distraction from the team lol

There's 99 problems on this team, but Klotz ain't one of them.

The biggest problem is the shiny head behind the bench. Doesn't use players that he has to the their abilities now, why would he do any different with Mahfouz? My expectations are low with him, simply because of Sims.

Let's see how many thumbs down I can get for this. I'm thinking more than two.

Joshua Franklin...you have to remember last season when Sims and Frankel hopped on a player that rapid city released. He was not doing so good with his team and with the coach of that team. He came here and caught on fire....his former teams fans were thrilled for him that our coach knew when and how to use him. He was MVP of playoffs for this team...so you can be anti Sims but to say there is no hope for any player to do well here with Sims as coach is not exactly being realistic. Not saying he is a superb coach, but I don't think he will smash every.good player that.comes here.

Kevin, loved the Vaskivuo pickup then, love it now. We don't get past the first round without him last season.

Why exactly did we not get him again during the season? Instead we settle for a terrible, no defense-playing defenseman, all because he has a "powerful slap shot that will shore up the PP woes?" How well has that worked out? How many points has he put up since coming in? Oh, that's right, the same amount of points I have from the stands.

As much as I'd love to see Mahfouz come in and breath some life into this dead-ass team (if I can borrow a Bob Brenly line), I don't see one person turning this team around. It'll take more than one this time.

Sorry Alan, seems I stole your novel-style posting on this one.

I hear ya and I agree..some of the choices bewilder me. Alot of the choices this year do. I don't know that one guy could fix our many problems...but maybe it could be a spark that at least helps to improve. Who knows though, just might be our year to sit out. Hate that thought!

Can we please watch it with the language, please. Not that I don't love having to pull over on way back from Toledo so that I can get a post removed.

AND, if you have something to say about Blake's coverage, do it on his blog. This isn't the place.

Sorry JC, that was very baaad of me. I'll try to keep it more classy than some of the Toledo folk tonight.

What's a Blake's Coverage? Sounds like some sort of inside joke that I'm not privy to.

Hey, Syro got two goals. That's.... something.

I still think it's funny that the K's Legends score more in one exhibition game than the big league team does in a week, and still managed to lose. There's irony in there somewhere. No, it's name is not Robbie either.

Not a problem at all, Joshua Franklin.
Sometimes it takes more than a handful of words to make a point.
Vaskivou was offered a contract with the K's, but could make a bunch more money in Europe. Incidentally, he signed with Grenoble, France early. You know who else signed there? Ed McGrane who played with Missouri last season. You may remember him as the player who scored the tying goal on the penalty shot awarded by Henley's knocking the net off its moorings with 19 seconds to go in the game.
I would never claim to be able tp prove this, but I've often wondered if he didn't approach the Grenoble coach to sign Vaskivou.

On this 'thumbs up, thumbs down" issue:
my suggestion for next years bobblehead would be to forgo any player, but make it simply a "thumbs down" bobblehead, Maybe we would have to call it a "bobblethumb!

Hasn't the Bobble head horse been just about beaten into the ground.
How about turning to a new page?
