Another Fort Wayne man is in federal custody in connection with the February robbery of a PNC bank branch, which occurred about eight weeks after he was released from prison.Implicated in a scheme to cash fake payroll checks, a Fort Wayne woman pleaded guilty Thursday to corrupt business influence.
Brenda M. Jones, 47, was one of 11 people charged with corrupt business influence and other charges, accused of stealing payroll information from area businesses to create counterfeit checks and then cashing them at different locations.
Under the terms of a plea agreement, Jones faces a two-year executed prison sentence and must pay $994.12 in restitution. An additional charge of theft was dismissed.
Also pleading guilty to charges of corrupt business influence in connection with the case are Preonda Jones, 31, of the 7900 block of Decatur Road; Adel Buelow, 22, of the 1700 block of Hillside Avenue; and Nigel Brown, 23, of the 3100 block of Vance Avenue. Preonda Jones and Buelow will be sentenced later this month, and Brown will be sentenced in March
Also arrested and charged were Nathaniel Dickey, 57, of the 100 block of West Creighton Avenue; Kenneth Rollingcloud, 50, homeless; Bernard Jones, 51, of the 100 block of West Creighton Avenue; Kiera McNeil, 19, of the 1100 block of Delaware Avenue; Travis Bloom, 22, of the 7600 block of Bojrab Drive; and Angela Fett, also known as Angela Bloom, 40, of Columbia City. Dickey and McNeil have not yet been arrested.
