No. 3 Saint Francis women lose to No.1 Indiana Wesleyan

MARION – In a showdown of No. 3-ranked Saint Francis at No. 1 Indiana Wesleyan, the host Wildcats claimed a 59-57 victory over the Cougars on Wednesday.

It was the second time the two teams have met this season, as Saint Francis defeated Wesleyan 62-55 at the Hutzell Center.

Kayla Drake led Saint Francis (24-3, 13-2) with 19 points. Skylarr Shurn added 10.

Drake shot a 23-foot three-point shot near the buzzer, but it was blocked by Emma Stahl. Even though Saint Francis coach Gary Andrews yelled for a foul, none was called.

Indiana Wesleyan (26-1, 14-1) took sole possession of first place in the Crossroads League.
