Ohio apartment fire kills 3

HARPSTER, Ohio – Authorities in north-central Ohio say three people have died after a fire swept through two upstairs apartments.

The fire early Tuesday morning happened in the village of Harpster. That's near Upper Sandusky and about midway between Toledo and Columbus.

The fire broke out in what's known as the General Store building across from the township's volunteer fire department.

The Wyandot County Sheriff's office said several people were able to escape from the upstairs apartments

Ten fire departments responded to the fire.
