Burglary suspects die in high-speed police chase

GARY, Ind. – A third person has died from injuries suffered when a car carrying burglary suspects crashed during a high-speed police chase in Gary.

The Lake County Coroner’s Department says 14-year-old Shedevan Gibbs of Gary died at a Chicago-area hospital early Thursday.

The Times and the Post-Tribune report that the other two suspects, 17-year-old Ronnie Arthurs of Chicago and 19-year-old Andre Carradine of Gary, died at the scene of the crash Wednesday morning.

Police estimated the fleeing car reached speeds of 90 mph before it struck a tree, spun and struck a second tree with such force that the front end of the vehicle wrapped around the tree.
