The elderly couple told police they had been duped out of thousands of dollars and that their Social Security checks were diverted to Georgia, which gave detectives their first real clue.An 87-year-old woman from Roanoke has died as a result of injuries she sustained in a traffic crash Jan. 9, according to the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
Phyllis M. Kreigh was in a crash at Clinton and Main streets, according to the coroner’s office, which said she died Tuesday of respiratory failure as a result of the crash.
Her death has been ruled the fourth traffic fatality for Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2013.
The funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
