New Haven gets win over Wayne

V.J. Beachem scored 24 points to lead the New Haven boys basketball team to a 68-62 home victory over Wayne on Tuesday.

Monte Stevenson and Jordan Hogue had 11 points for the Bulldogs. Jabar Ray scored 10 points.

Justin Mitchell scored 18 points for Wayne. Levi Mitchell and Jescus Mitchell scored 13 and 11 points.

NORWELL 90, LEO 64: Josh VanMeter scored 24 points for the Knights in a home win. Drew Shively had 19 points, and David Vogel scored 15 points for Norwell. Cam Denney scored 13 points in the win. Sam Waters had 16 points to lead Leo. AJ Busche scored 15 points.

WEST NOBLE 63, NORTHWOOD 60: Nick Thomas had 15 points and six assists for the Chargers in a home win. Keith Gibson had 14 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Drew Schermerhorn had 14 points and Brandon Evans scored 12 points.

TIPPECANOE VALLEY 57, MACONAQUAH 50: Tanner Andrews scored 25 points for the Vikings in a home victory. Nick Kindig scored 14 points for Tippecanoe Valley.

Girls basketball

BISHOP DWENGER 66, EAST NOBLE 52: Ally Christman scored 20 points for the Saints in a road win. Sierra Fisher added nine points for Bishop Dwenger. Kavan Edwards scored 14 points for East Noble.

WOODLAN 68, NORTH SIDE 53: Lauren Ehle had 19 points and seven assists for the Warriors in a home victory. Jaryn Malfait and Brooke Gerbers scored 14 points for Woodlan. Sierra Miranda had 18 points and 10 rebounds for North Side.

LAKEWOOD PARK 78, LAKELAND CHRISTIAN 53: Nicole Faur and Rae Faur had 22 and 21 points for the Panthers in a home win. Suzanne Grimm had 15 points and eight rebounds. Alisa Gross led Lakeland Christian with 15 points.

FREMONT 51, EASTSIDE 36: Kelsey Sichling had 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Eagles in a home win. Shae Rhonehouse added 11 points. Caitlin Loffer had eight points and 11 rebounds. Kaci Shook scored 11 points for Eastside.

Boys swimming

NORWELL 98, BLACKFORD 44: Logan Ackley and Adam Nahrwold both won two individual events for the Knights.

Ackley placed first in the 100-yard freestyle and 100 backstroke. Nahrwold won the 200 individual medley and the 100 breaststroke.

Gymnastics

NORTHROP 100.60, CONCORDIA 80.85: The Bruins’ Nataley Sliger captured the all-around. Sliger finished first on the floor and vault.
