Missing police dog is found

Stryker

After 19 hours of searching for the missing drug-sniffing dog, the Columbia City Police Department got a call from the Allen County Sheriff’s Department this morning that its police dog had been found at a home on Hathaway Road in Allen County.

He appears to be in good health and did not appear to have any injuries, the Columbia City department said in a statement.

Stryker was discovered missing about 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon after he somehow escaped from his kennel at an officer's home in the Collins area, police said for an earlier story.

“Thrilled” that Stryker is back home, the police department thanked the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department, Churubusco Police Department, Indiana State Police, Indiana conservation officers, the Churubusco Fire Department and volunteers for helping with the search.
