Pedestrian critically injured by semi

A semi tractor struck and ran over a pedestrian in the 2500 block of Coliseum Boulevard West about 8 p.m. Monday according to a statement from Fort Wayne police.

Police have not released the identity of the 27-year-old male who was taken to a hospital and listed in critical but stable condition.

Visibility was less than a quarter mile with drizzle at the time of the accident, according to the National Weather Service. Those factors likely played a factor in the crash, according to the statement.

The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department.
