DWI chase: Nude driver hits police car

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Western Indiana police say they arrested a nude motorist who crashed his car into a squad car following a police chase across the city of Terre Haute.

Fifty-eight-year-old James August Hartmann was arrested Thursday on preliminary charges that include public indecency, drunken driving and resisting law enforcement.

The Tribune-Star reports (http://bit.ly/W74xPz) that police sought out Hartmann after a delivery driver reported that a nude man had exposed himself from within his car.

Terre Haute police said Hartmann then drove off, leading police on a pursuit that ended when he crashed his vehicle into a police car in the parking lot of Terre Haute South Vigo High School.
