A man accused of beating a woman and threatening to rape her accepted a plea agreement and admitted his guilt to several charges in Allen Superior Court on Tuesday.
Jermaine Sanders, 36, pleaded guilty to felony criminal deviate conduct, felony possession of marijuana, misdemeanor battery and one count of being a habitual offender.
There is no limit to his sentencing spelled out in the plea agreement, and Sanders cannot appeal the sentence after it is handed down next month.
According to court documents, Sanders confronted a woman Sept. 1, beat her until she nearly lost consciousness and then ripped her clothes and threatened to rape her.
Sanders told police he was upset with her because of a previous robbery he thought she was responsible for, according to court documents.
