IU holds off Northwestern

Cody Zeller scored 21 points as No. 2 Indiana defeated Northwestern 67-59 Sunday at Welsh-Ryan Arena.

Zeller scored with 6:20 to go to give the Hoosiers a 49-42 lead. It was IU's first field goal since the 14:22 mark.

Zeller later tipped in a miss from Jordan Hulls to make it 51-43. Victor Oladipo followed with a three-pointer for IU.

Northwestern's Jared Swopshire made a three-pointer with 2:31 to go to make it 56-51. But the Wildcats never got any closer than five points the rest of the way.

Hulls had 15 points and Christian Watford scored 14 points for Indiana (16-2, 4-1 Big Ten).

Snider graduate Reggie Hearn scored 22 points for Northwestern (11-8, 2-4). Swopshire added 13 points.
