Driver search nets heroin haul, arrest

After arresting a man wanted on a charge of dealing heroin, officers found more than 8 grams of drugs stashed between his buttocks Friday, Fort Wayne police said.

Keith Cooper, 34, was pulled over near East Rudisill Boulevard and Winter Street, and during a search, officers found $841 in cash on him, police said. He initially resisted when officers tried to do a more thorough search, but they eventually subdued him and discovered 6.8 grams of heroin and 1.9 grams of marijuana hidden between his buttocks, police said.

Cooper, of the 1600 block of East Rudisill, faces preliminary felony charges of dealing heroin, heroin possession and marijuana possession. He was being held at the Allen County Lockup in lieu of $55,000 bail.
