Bitter cold, snow in forecast

Get out the heavy sweaters. The National Weather Service in northern Indiana says this weekend will usher in much colder weather and snow.

The weather service issued a hazardous weather advisory for northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio that said the frigid air will move into the area Saturday night and persist into next week.

On Tuesday, we can expect to see temperatures near 0 degrees, the weather service said, with bitterly cold winds Monday night and early Tuesday.

Heavy snow is expected Sunday through Tuesday north of U.S. 30 in northern Indiana, with light snow accumulations elsewhere.
