The Allen County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in an armed robbery.

The department released photos Tuesday of a woman who is believed to have entered the Walgreens store on Indiana 1 about 8:30 a.m. Friday and pointed a handgun at the clerk.

The cashier was unable to open the register, so the suspect turned the gun to a customer behind her and stole her purse, the department said.

The suspect was described as being in her early 20s and 5-foot-3. At the time of the robbery, she was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black yoga pants and white tennis shoes. The sheriff's department also said she was wearing "a lot of eye makeup" and had a facial piercing, possibly in the area of the lip or eyebrow.

Anyone with information about her or her whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Schmidt at 449-7466.
