When I left the Gates Center this morning, IPFW guard Justin Jordan was riding a stationery bicycle while the rest of his teammates practiced.
This has been an ongoing theme this year for the former North Side standout, who suffered a severe knee injury during a pick-up basketball game last summer.
Jackson's chances of returning to the team appear slim at this point. While he was doing some light shooting before practice began (he made three in a row from three-point range), his movement was still limited. My guess is that he'll sit out the remainder of the year and apply for a medical redshirt, which would allow him to have an extra year of eligibility next season.
Meanwhile, IPFW (8-10, 1-4 Summit League) prepared to face South Dakota (7-11, 3-3) on Thursday at Memorial Coliseum.
Saturday, IPFW will play UMKC (5-13, 2-4) at the Coliseum.
Both of next week's home games (Western Illinois on Jan. 24 and IUPUI on Jan. 26) will be played at the Gates Center.
