Two Warsaw men face preliminary charges of burglary in connection with home burglaries in Kosciusko County.

Sheriff's deputies and officers from the North Webster Police Department responded to a burglary in progress about 1:15 p.m. Friday in the 8000 block of Syracuse/Webster Road in Syracuse.

Relatives of the homeowners had detained a suspect identified as Corey Hurst Ritchie, 24, according to a statement issued by the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.

It said that officers located items stolen from the home and transported Ritchie to the county jail on a preliminary charge of felony burglary to a residence or dwelling.

Officers went to the home of Zackery Hernandez, 23, on Saturday, and he was also arrested and preliminarily charged with felony burglary of a residence or dwelling, along with a second charge of felony theft.

Sheriff's detectives reported the men have been linked to at least three residential burglaries in the last two months.

Ritchie's bond was set at $50,000, while Hernandez's bond was set at $10,000, the statement said.
