Mad Ants win 7th in a row

The Mad Ants added another win to their longest winning streak in franchise history on Saturday with a 112-84 victory over the Erie BayHawks on Saturday in Erie, Pa.

It was the seventh consecutive win for the Ants (10-10), who have not lost since a 107-101 setback at Springfield, Mass., on Dec. 22.

Anthony Richardson led Fort Wayne with 30 points on 12-of-18 shooting. He also added four blocked shots.

Tony Mitchell had 22 for the Ants, while former Notre Dame standout Luke Harangody had 19 points and 21 rebounds. Others in double figures were Ron Howard (17) and Sadiel Rojas (13).

The loss knocked Erie (10-7) out of first place in the NBA D-League East Division, while the Ants remain three games behind division-leading Maine (14-8).

Erie got within 72-69 in the second half, but the Ants finished on a 40-15 run.

Note: The Ants acquired rookie guard Doron Lamb from the Milwaukee Bucks, one of the team’s four NBA affiliates.

Lamb, who averaged 13.1.points in leading Kentucky to the 2012 NCAA championship, was the 42nd overall pick in last year’s NBA draft. In 23 games with the Bucks this season, he averaged 3.4 points and 12.2 minutes. He scored eight points on four separate occasions. He finished his career at Kentucky as the Wildcats’ most prolific three-point shooter in school history with a 47.5 percentage.
