Warrant leads to additional drug charges

A suspect being served with an arrest warrant alleging dealing in marijuana was preliminarily charged with marijuana and cocaine possession today when officers found small amounts of the drugs at his home, the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force said.

Gilbert Berrones, 29, of Warsaw, was being held at the Kosciusko County Jail without bond, the task force said in a statement..

Officers were serving the warrant about 11:35 a.m. today when they noticed what appeared to be small amounts of cocaine and marijuana inside Berrones' home, the statement said.

It said field testing confirmed the substances were illegal.

The task force consists of officers from the county sheriff's department and other law enforcement agencies.
