    The D-League will hold its annual national tryouts June 15 in New York. The one-day event will see 200 hopefuls in full-court games in front of team executives, coaches and scouts.
  • Howard, Smith work at Development League camp
    Mad Ants guard Ron Howard and center Tommy Smith accepted invitations to the NBA Development League Elite Mini Camp, which started Monday and runs through Tuesday in Chicago.
  • Record year for D-League
    It wasn't only the Mad Ants that made 2012-13 their best season; the rest of the NBA Development League had a record-setting year, as well.

Mad Ants win at Showcase

Luke Harangody and the Mad Ants got the best of Tim Ohlbrecht and the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Wednesday, as they took control in the fourth quarter to lock down a 116-97 win at the 2013 NBA D-League Showcase in Reno, Nev.

Harangody had a season-high 27 points on 11-of-25 shooting and notched a double-double by grabbing 18 rebounds, which matches his season high from a win on Dec. 28 over Texas.

Ohlbrecht, the Vipers’ center, playing his first season in the United States after playing as a professional in Germany since 2005, had a team-high 22 points and nine rebounds.

Tony Mitchell collected 20 points and nine rebounds and Ron Howard had 15 points and 10 assists for the Mad Ants.

Fort Wayne returns to action tomorrow at 1 p.m. when it plays Tulsa. Rio Grande Valley.
