Craigslist robbery draws six-year term

A woman implicated in the robbery of a man she met on Craigslist received a nearly six-year prison sentence Wednesday, according to Allen Superior Court records.

Angel V. Hicks, 24, of the 600 block of Anderson Avenue, was accused of going to the home of a man she met on the website, dancing for him and then, along with her boyfriend, robbing him at gunpoint, court records said.

She later pleaded guilty to one count of robbery.

Hicks was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in prison, but had four of those years suspended and was given 18 days of jail credit for time served while her case made its way through the legal system.

Her boyfriend, 26-year-old Jarmal Datcher, was sentenced to 12 years in prison – with two years suspended – last month, according to court records.
