Skating ponds to remain closed this weekend

Skating ponds at Lakeside, East Swinney, Franke and Reservoir parks will remain closed this weekend because of thin ice, the city of Fort Wayne said today.

Red lights and flags will be up at the ponds to indicate that conditions are not safe, the city's parks and recreation department said in a statement.

More reliable ice is available at Headwaters Park during public skating hours, the statement said.
