It’s as if he never has a quiet moment apart from it.INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A murder mystery set in southern Indiana has won the fiction prize in the Best Books of Indiana competition for 2012.
The Indiana Center for the Book at the Indiana State Library announced the selection this week of "Safely Buried" by John Pesta of Vallonia.
The title and Pesta's name will be engraved on a plaque in the Indiana Authors Room of the State Library in Indianapolis.
"Safely Buried" was chosen over two other finalists: "Four for a Quarter" by Fort Wayne native Michael Martone and "For Sale by Owner" by Kelcey Parker of South Bend.
The Best Books of Indiana contest honors books with an Indiana theme or setting published during the preceding year. Besides fiction, it names winners in nonfiction, poetry and works for children and young adults.
