IPFW faces Kennesaw State

Even if IPFW (5-7) doesn't beat Kennesaw State (1-9) tonight at Memorial Coliseum, it's not the end of the world.

Think about it.

The Mastodons probably should win, if recent scores can be used as an indication.

IPFW played at Notre Dame on Dec. 17 and lost 74-62 - a game in which IPFW played the Irish even in the second half. Kennesaw State, however, played at Notre Dame two nights after IPFW and lost 85-57. It was the ninth consecutive loss for the Owls from Kennesaw, Ga.

Kennesaw State's best player is 6-foot-6 senior guard Markeith Cummings, who averages 18 points and 3.9 rebounds per game.

Following tonight's game, IPFW opens its Summit League schedule Dec. 27 at IUPUI.

Steve Warden blogs all things IPFW.
