  • Softball season ends
    Jessica Hall gave up only three hits to IPFW and the UCLA softball team defeated the Mastodons 8-0 on Saturday to end IPFW's season at the NCAA Regional in Louisville, Ky.
  • Mastodons to regionals
    IPFW senior Theresa McHugh and freshman Rachel Dincoff have earned spots at the NCAA East Region Preliminary Championships, which begins May 23 in Greensboro, N.C.
  • Softball players honored
    IPFW junior Ashleigh Bousquet and sophomore Larissa Franklin were named to the Summit League Softball Academic All-League team, as voted on by the schools’ faculty athletics representatives and sports information directors.

Mastodons roll past Kennesaw State

IPFW ended a three-game losing streak Friday with a 70-47 victory over Kennesaw State at Memorial Coliseum.

Senior Frank Gaines led IPFW (6-7) with 22 points, including a 10 of 13 performance from the free-throw line. Mario Hines added 16 points and 8 rebounds, Luis Jacobo had 14 points, and Michael Kibiloski had 10.

Shooting just 9 of 23 from the floor in the first half for a 26-22 lead, IPFW made 15 of 25 in the second half to pull away from the Owls (1-10), who have lost nine straight.

IPFW will begin its Summit League play Dec. 27 at IUPUI.
