2 escape house fire on Rudisill safely

Two adults safely escaped a house fire Saturday on Fort Wayne’s south side, according to the city fire department.

Fire crews were sent to 706 E. Rudisill Blvd., near South Hanna Street, about 4:50 p.m., and they found a small fire in a second-floor bedroom.

The fire, which caused moderate damage, was under control in about 15 minutes and did not spread beyond the bedroom.

The two adults were home when the blaze started, and they got out without help from firefighters.

There were no injuries reported.

The cause is under investigation.
