Police seek help after armed robbery

A person at the Topeka Livestock Auction was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday morning.

The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department said the victim was approached about 7:15 a.m. by a man described as 5-foot-4, with a slender build, and 20 to 30 years old. He was wearing dark clothes and a ski mask.

Police believe the robber fled from a nearby business in a navy-blue, mid-'90s Ford Ranger, standard-cab pickup truck, and said that he was accompanied by a female.

The truck was last seen leaving Topeka going east on County Road 700 South, passing several vehicles and driving recklessly, the sheriff’s department said.

Anyone who might have witnessed the armed robbery or has information about it is asked to contact the LaGrange County Dispatch Center at 260-463-7491.

The suspects should be considered armed and dangerous, the sheriff’s department said.
