Early birds get the free tickets

The Powerball jackpot is now at $500 million, although the amount might rise during the day.

Powerball officials announced early Wednesday afternoon that the jackpot is now an estimated $550 million.

Beginning at 6 a.m. today, the Hoosier Lottery gave away one free Powerball ticket to the first 425 players who visited Ricker's at 5823 Coldwater Road.
