Marching band results

Twenty-two northeast Indiana high school marching bands advanced to regional competition after earning gold ratings at district competition Saturday.

Most northeast Indiana bands competed in the Indiana State School Music Association district contest at Homestead High School. There were six other ISSMA district competitions around the state, according to IndianaMarching.com.

Regional competition is Oct. 13 at four sites.

In Class A, Homestead, Carroll, Snider, Northrop, Warsaw and Huntington North earned gold ratings and will advance to regional competition. Homestead won caption awards for music, visual and general effect.

In Class B, DeKalb, East Noble, North Side, Columbia City and Bishop Dwenger earned gold ratings and advanced to regional competition. DeKalb won caption awards for music, visual and general effect. Wayne and New Haven earned silver ratings. South Side earned a bronze.

In Class C, Norwell, Concordia, Angola, NorthWood, Leo, Woodlan, Garrett and Heritage earned gold ratings and advanced to regionals. Norwell won a caption award for music, Woodlan won for visual and Norwell and Concordia tied for general effect. Bellmont and Wawasee were given silver ratings.

In Class D, Adams Central, Bluffton and Eastside earned gold ratings and advanced to regional competition. Adams Central won caption awards for music, visual and general effect.
