2 arrested in raid on pot-growing operation

Tips about an indoor pot-growing operation led to a raid Tuesday morning on a house west of Pike Lake in Kosciusko County.

Warsaw police, county sheriff’s deputies and Indiana State Police investigators searched the house in the 1300 block of North Park Avenue about 10:35 a.m. Tuesday using the joint Warsaw-Kosciusko County SWAT team, the Warsaw Police Department said in a statement.

The homeowner, Jeffrey A. Rozanowski, 35, was arrested and charged with dealing and possession of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a park. A woman in the home, identified by police as Kristina Freeman, 18, no hometown given, was charged with possession of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a park.

The police statement said a self-contained indoor marijuana growing operation was found inside the house, with about 30 live plants, processed marijuana for drying and bagged marijuana for sale.

Warsaw police said cash, scales, pipes and other paraphernalia were found in the home.

The homeowner’s dog was taken temporarily to the Kosciusko County Humane Shelter.
