The National Weather Service has issued a weather advisory for portions of northeast Indiana.

At 12:20 p.m., strong thunderstorms with dime-size hail were moving toward northern Whitley, notheastern Whitley, northeastern Kosciusko, western Noble, southwestern LaGrange and southeastern Elkhart counties.

Occasional cloud-to-ground lightning and brief downpours are possible with this storm, the weather service said in a statement. Residents are advised to stay away from high objects outdoors such as trees and to seek shelter in a sturdy area until this storm has passed.
