O’Reilly, Stewart to face off


Pick your pundit when Bill O’Reilly and Jon Stewart face off for a special 90-minute debate about the 2012 presidential race.

The host of Fox News Channel’s “The O’Reilly Factor” and the anchor of Comedy Central’s fake newscast “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” have announced they will clash in the event, dubbed “The Rumble in the Air-Conditioned Auditorium.”

This live debate will be streamed online on Oct. 6 from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. The price is $4.95, with one-half of the profits donated to a number of unspecified charities.

Lennox weds

Annie Lennox has married for a third time.

The Scottish singer-songwriter’s publicist confirms Lennox married Mitch Besser in a private ceremony Saturday in London.

Several reports in the British media over the weekend described the ceremony, which was aboard a boat on the Thames River. Lennox’s two daughters served as bridesmaids.

Besser is an American doctor and founder of the charity mothers2mothers.

They are both 57.

‘Voice’ shuffle

Usher and Shakira are joining “The Voice” as new coaches next spring, when Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green take a break from the show, NBC said Monday.

Original coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will remain on board in Season 4, the network said. The singing contest began airing its third season last week.

Car impounded

Amanda Bynes had another run-in with the law when she was pulled over for driving on a suspended license near Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, Calif.

Airport spokesman Victor Gill says airport police cited the actress, 26, and impounded her car Sunday.

Bynes’ driving privileges had been suspended after she was charged with hit-and-run in connection with two traffic crashes.
