Woman in fatal crash accused of huffing

A 32-year-old Van Wert County woman has been indicted on two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and one count of child endangering in connection with a fatal crash last month.

Lisa A. Hundley of Middle Point is accused of huffing from a can a compressed air before the crash that killed Geneva Lambert, 90, also of Middle Point, according to a written statement issued Wednesday by the Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

A 13-year-old passenger in the 2003 Dodge Dakota driven by Hundley was also injured in the crash Aug. 5 at Chenowith Road and the Lincoln Highway, between the communities of Middle Point and Van Wert.

The investigative team included troopers from the Van Wert Post and a trooper from the Findlay District Investigative Unit.

Wednesday’s statement said that Hundley was operating the pickup truck with a suspended operator’s license and that the owner of the truck has been issued a summons to appear in Van Wert Municipal Court on one count of wrongful entrustment.
