Romney mentioned SDI in convention speech

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney mentioned Fort Wayne-based Steel Dynamics Inc. in his speech Thursday night at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla.

Romney named the company as one he helped start as the head of Bain Capital in the 1990s.

According to an excerpt from his speech, Romney said: "At a time nobody thought we'd ever see a new steel mill built in America, we took a chance and built one in a corn field in Indiana. Today Steel Dynamics is one of the largest steel producers in the United States."
