Theft from vehicle leads to 4 arrests

Three men and a juvenile were arrested early Friday for allegedly stealing items from a vehicle, according to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.

About 4:15 a.m., sheriff’s deputies were called to the 8100 block of East Backwater Road in North Webster on a report of a vehicle break-in.

As deputies were on the way, the victim reported seeing four people walking along Indiana 13, north of North Webster.

A Syracuse police officer later found the four on the south side of Syracuse.

One of them had a bag that contained items that had been reported stolen from the vehicle. The four, who denied stealing the items, were taken into custody.
