WEST LAFAYETTE — Farmers can learn how to manage the consequences of this summer's drought at a series of meetings across Indiana hosted by Purdue Extension.
The extension agency says 50 people signed up for a recent meeting hosted by the Cass and Carroll county extension offices, but 85 showed up. Topics included U.S. Department of Agriculture emergency programs and how to fill out claims for crop insurance.
Farmers can check with their local county extension office for the closest meeting to them.
The next two meetings are today — at 11 a.m. the Vigo County Fairgrounds in Terre Haute, and at 7 p.m. at the Benton County Government Annex in Fowler.
