Being a novice at video, when I was asked to shoot my first video assignment, I felt a little nervous. After making sure to take along a monopod for steadiness, I approached the subject: kids in canoes.
They completely ignored me and went about their paddling, which helped me to relax and just shoot away. After getting a few video clips of the action, I made sure to get some still photos. Once I got back to the office, the videos and stills were combined to make my inaugural video. Which, for me, was quite satisfying.
