    No official word yet, but I'm hearing that the Komets may be completing a deal with Thomas Frazee, who had 24 goals and 47 points in 60 games last season with Quad City of the CHL.

    The Komets have aligned with the NHL's Colorado Avalanche and their American Hockey League team, the Lake Erie Monsters.

    Former Komets star Joe Kastelic, who once owned the record for most goals scored in the IHL, died Wednesday at 81. He skated for the Komets from 1953 to 1957 and then again in 1960-61.

Schrock is speaker at Youth Hockey outing

Komets star Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock will be a guest speaker following the golf outing at Cedar Creek Golf Club in Leo-Cedarville, which is being held to offset the rising costs of youth hockey in Fort Wayne.

The banquet, Aug. 12, is open to the public.

Spots in the tournament, which begins at 1 p.m., are $70 per person, $280 per foursome. Hole sponsorships are also available for $50 a hole or three for $100.
