Fort Wayne sets weather record

The temperature in Fort Wayne reached 106 degrees today, the National Weather Service reported.

This breaks the record high for June 28 of 102 degrees set in 1934, the weather service said in a statement.

This also ties the all-time record high temperature of 106 degrees set on June 25, 1988, July 14, 1936, and and July 22, 1934.

As of 6 p.m., Defiance, Ohio, had reached 107 degrees today, and Warsaw had reached 104, the weather service said.
