Interim chancellor appointed for IPFW

Branson

IPFW announced Tuesday that Walter J. Branson has been named interim chancellor, effective Sunday.

The appointment, made by Purdue University, is to cover the time between the forced retirement of current Chancellor Mike Wartell and the arrival on campus of the new chancellor, Vicky Carwein.

Branson will serve as chancellor through Aug. 31.

He has been vice chancellor for financial affairs at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne since 1993.
