FORT WAYNE – A 27-year-old man shot dead inside a liquor store Friday night has been identified.
The death of Christopher M. Mhoon was ruled a homicide, according to the Allen County Coroner's Office.
Mhoon of Fort Wayne was pronounced dead at 9:19 p.m. at the Cap N' Cork liquor store at 5727 S. Anthony Blvd., near East Paulding Road, the coroner's office said.
He is the county's 18th homicide victim this year.
Witnesses told police that Mhoon got into a dispute with another man in the store that became physical. During the fight, the man pulled a gun and shot Mhoon more than once, police said.
The shooter had fled before officers arrived about 9:15 p.m. Mhoon was found just inside the store's entryway, police said.
A description of the shooter has not been released. He remains at large.
