So I see Brady Quinn has taken the standard fallback position for someone who's caught saying stuff for public consumption he later regrets.

No. 1, he says he will "reach out" to Tim Tebow to apologize for anything that might have been taken for a diss in Michael Silver's GQ chronicle of Tebow's season.

No. 2, he blames Silver for, you know, quoting him accurately.

The bad news for Quinn is that Silver has the entire interview on tape. The good news, on the other hand, is that very little of what he said about Tebow was inaccurate.

I mean, yes, the Broncos did get a little lucky during Tebow's run. And, yes, a lot of the reason Tebow was leapfrogged over Quinn into the starter's role was because the fans were so in love with him.

And, finally, yes, Tebow's very public expressions of his faith could be taken to be a little ostentatious, even if they weren't intended to be.

So what's he apologizing for?
