Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock scored at 3:02 of overtime to lift the Komets to a 2-1 victory at Tulsa on Tuesday.
Brent Henley and Jamie Milam assisted on the goal as Fort Wayne won in its first-ever trip to the BOK Center.
The Komets (32-16-3) were two-men short of a full 18-player lineup for third straight game because of the suspensions. Fort Wayne overcame the losses, as Gerry Festa made 27 saves.
Steve Christie made 42 saves for Tulsa (23-20-6), which is coached by former Komets player/assistant Bruce Ramsay.
The Komets’ Chris Auger scored at 3:12 of the first period. Gary Steffes tied the game with a goal at 16:55 of the second period.
It remained that way until Schrock came through in overtime. The Komets face Arizona on Friday at Memorial Coliseum.
