Man exposes self behind city school

Fort Wayne police received a report that a man exposed himself Tuesday in the woods behind Northwood Middle School.

A teacher told police that while instructing a class he looked out a window and saw the man lying naked on the ground, according to police reports.

The teacher said he quickly closed the blinds to his classroom and called the school office, the reports stated.

About 9:40 a.m., police went to the area of the school at 1201 E. Washington Center Road and found the man in front of a nearby home. Officers spoke with his family and learned that he is developmentally impaired, with the mental capacity of a child, the reports stated.

Police notified mental health officials and Adult Protective Services about the incident.
