Renaissance Pointe open house set

Residents will have a chance to get a firsthand look at the new homes in Renaissance Pointe this weekend.

Ideal Suburban Homes of Decatur is having an open house Saturday, showcasing the first of the 66 homes to be built as part of the lease-purchase program in the neighborhood.

The event will be 1 to 4 p.m. at 2301 John St.

The developer in September broke ground on a 66-home, $11.6 million development that is expected to be completed this fall. The homes will be built on vacant lots along John Street, Gay Street and Weisser Park in the neighborhood near the newly constructed Renaissance Pointe YMCA.
