An 83-year-old woman was badly hurt Saturday in a two-vehicle crash in northeast Fort Wayne, city police said.
The woman was driving a 1997 Buick four-door east on Trier Road, approaching the four-way stop at Goeglein Road. An investigation found that the Buick did not stop at the intersection and hit a 2006 Saab sport utility vehicle that was heading south on Goeglein. The Saab had stopped for the stop sign before pulling into the intersection, police said.
Authorities were sent to the scene about 2:20 p.m. The Saab driver, a man from Fort Wayne, and two others in the vehicle were in fair condition.
The Buick driver, whos from Fort Wayne, was in serious condition at the scene. She was taken to a hospital where she was downgraded to critical condition.
Police said both drivers and the passengers of the Saab were wearing seat belts. No one involved in the crash was identified.
