Cougars too much for Trojans

The Saint Francis women rolled in the second half en route to the 60-49 home win over Taylor on Wednesday.

The Cougars (16-9, 8-5 MCC) outscored the Trojans (16-9, 6-7) 32-22 after halftime.

Amanda Pedro led three Saint Francis players in double figures with 14 points, while Meghan Prible had 12 and Kayla Mullins 10.

Men

AQUINAS COLLEGE 64: INDIANA TECH 61: In Grand Rapids, Mich., the No. 21 Warriors lost on the road.

Indiana Tech (17-6, 7-6 WHAC) got 19 points from Jordan Hickman and 14 from Rodney Bartholomew.

DEFIANCE 57, MANCHESTER 56: In Defiance, Ohio, Jason Spindler had 24 points in the Spartans’ loss. Jordan Moss added 13 points for Manchester (7-13, 5-8 HCAC).

BUFFALO 73, BALL STATE 57: In Buffalo, N.Y., Jarrod Jones’ 21 points weren’t enough as the Cardinals fell for the fourth straight game.

Ball State fell to 12-8 overall and 4-4 in the MAC.

IUPUI 79, OAKLAND, MICH., 75: In Indianapolis, Christian Siakam scored a season-high 23 points as the Jaguars (9-15, 3-9 Summit League) ended a seven-game losing streak.

EVANSVILLE 92, BRADLEY 62: In Peoria, Ill., Denver Holmes and Ryan Sawvell had the first double-doubles of their careers as Evansville (11-11, 6-6 Missouri Valley) ended a two-game slide.

INDIANA TECH 64, AQUINAS 53: Yasmine Coleman and Ulyssia Richmond each scored 14 points for the host Warriors.

Keona Bruen had 10 points for Indiana Tech (12-13, 4-9 WHAC).

MANCHESTER 41, DEFIANCE 34: In North Manchester, the Spartans held Defiance to 14 of 54 (26 percent) shooting in the win.

Erynn Meiklejohn led Manchester (14-6, 10-3 HCAC) with 14 points.
